Eligibility

To be eligible for the McNair Program at Truman, an applicant must be a full-time Truman State University student of at least sophomore status who satisfies the following requirements:

• A first-generation college and income-eligible individual and/or an individual from groups currently underrepresented in graduate education: African-American, Alaskan Native, Hispanic-American, Native American, Native Hawaiian, or Pacific Islander;
• A United States citizen, permanent resident, or student in the United States for a non-temporary purpose; AND
• A student with strong potential and desire to understand and prepare for the pursuit of a doctoral degree.
